Introducing and Implementing Human Rights Due Diligence in Companies: Educational Training Workshops on Business and Human Rights

“Introducing and Implementing Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) in Companies” training workshops, conducted as part of the project “Promoting Responsible Business Conduct with a particular focus on promoting HRDD in global supply chains and leveraging the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights for a just recovery” (B+HR Project) supported by the Government of Japan and the United Nations Development Programme, aim to increase awareness and understanding of business and human rights for companies and their suppliers. Divided into online and face-to-face sessions, the trainings are designed for Turkish subsidiaries and suppliers of Japanese companies operating in different sectors such as automotive, food, and manufacturing. Tailored to the specific needs of the audience, the trainings focus on integrating HRDD into operations in compliance with mandatory HRDD legislations in the European Union and Japan.

The sessions were conducted by Co-Founders of Minerva, Dr. Çiğdem Çımrın and Dr. Pınar Kara in cooperation with the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation (TÜRKONFED), one of the implementing partners of the B+HR Project. 

The one-on-one mentoring sessions with companies following the trainings provide in-depth discussions on legal obligations, supply chain mapping, human rights policy, stakeholder engagement and supplier compliance, as well as practical solutions for implementing HRDD.
