Dr. Nazlı Gülfem Gidener Ercan was born in Giresun on 27 August 1986. She completed her undergraduate education in Business Administration at İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University and subsequently received her M.Sc. degree in Logistics and Maritime Transportation and her Ph.D. degree in Maritime Business Administration from Dokuz Eylül University. 

Since 2015, she has been serving as a faculty member at the Faculty of Maritime Studies at Dokuz Eylül University. Her academic research and teaching primarily focus on supply chain management, logistics management, and industrial marketing. 

She is married and has one child.
